JCIRA held two grand opening events in June, 2023 for the new multicutural center.

The open house on Friday, June 9, featured a proclamation read by Port Townsend Mayor David J. Faber, proclaiming National Immigrant Heritage Month in the city, recognizing the contributions of immigrants to our society and acknowledging the work JCIRA has done on behalf of immigrants and asylum seekers. Music for the event was provided by Camelia Jade, a singer and guitarist from Chile.

On Sunday, June 11, we celebrated, with the party overflowing onto the patio of the Hacienda Tizapan restaurant next door, where a taco bar was provided and D.J. David Bonobo brightened the fiesta atmosphere with lively music.
