The recent addition of the  JCIRA Multicultural Center means that together we can do so much more for our community. Immigrants and asylum seekers can get help finding resources, and everyone can benefit from a variety of programs available.

At the center, you can:
  • ​Get help completing forms and finding community resources.
  • Use our computers free of charge.
  • Check out our classes, including Spanish and English language classes.
  • Enjoy special events and meeting new friends.

​English as Second (or Additional) Language

The evening ESL class will start again on September 13. It meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.on Wednesdays.

Sue Lemay is the new instructor this year. Sue has many years of experience teaching ESL, bsaic skills, college prep, and high school equivalency and credit programs.

The class is open to all levels of English learners and will use small groups to encourage participation at the appropriate levels.

Learn Spanish! Beginners class starts on September 11.

JCIRA is pleased to welcome Francisca Ramirez as our new Spanish teacher.
​Francisca Ramirez will teach our new Spanish class for beginners. We are lucky to get Francisca, a native Spanish speaker from the Dominican Republic. A $5 donation is requested for each class, held on Mondays.

new intermediate Spanish class.

Starting September 13, our new intermediate Spanish class begins with teacher Katie Franco. Katie, a JCIRA founder, is a fluent Spanish speaker and lifelong admirer of Mexican culture. A $10 donation is suggested for each class. (There will be a three-week break in October.)
