LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
We acknowledge that these waters, mountains, valleys and shorelines are the traditional territory of the S’Klallam and Chemakum peoples. We honor the history of these indigenous peoples and their descendants who are with us today.
We acknowledge and are grateful for the work of countless immigrants who played an essential role in building this country, facing discrimination and often cruel and unjust treatment after arrival to these lands.
We acknowledge the essential role in the development of this country played by the enslaved people kidnapped from their homes in Africa, brought forcibly to this country and deprived of their freedom, but nevertheless resisted oppression and have continued to lead the fight for civil rights for all.
